And they also allow Bens to create an upper addition that would fill out the footprint of the existing house, but that was not his intention. Placed at the 90 degrees fish, the screen protects the entry against the rain and the sun, and adds a horizontal element to avoid the vertical nature of additional volume. The vertical siding of cedar, roofs gently inclined, exposed the stuck laminated beams and the roofs answer the esthetics of the houses close to post and beam of half of the century.
